ABOUT

Melia Lange RN. Cosmetic nurse, founder of Plumerian Aesthetics.

AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse. Canadian-trained. NICU background. Cosmetic specialist working out of Bentleigh East, Melbourne. Subtle by default. Considered by design.

The short version.

Melia is a Registered Nurse, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She trained as a nurse in Canada, started her clinical career in neonatal intensive care, and built a cosmetic practice across Melbourne over the years that followed. Plumerian Aesthetics is her clinic. The Bentleigh location is where every client is seen by Melia or one of her Registered Nurses, by appointment only.

The work at Plumerian Aesthetics is medically led, AHPRA-compliant, TGA-compliant, and built on the premise that the best cosmetic results are the ones nobody can quite put their finger on. Your closest friends should say you look rested, not different. That’s the entire brief.

The longer version.

Melia’s nursing career started in a neonatal intensive care unit in Canada. NICU teaches a kind of precision that doesn’t transfer easily into other practices. You’re working with patients who cannot tell you what’s wrong, in conditions where the difference between getting it right and getting it close is often measurable in grams or fractions of a millilitre. That training stayed with her. When she moved to Australia and pivoted into cosmetic nursing, the precision came too.

Cosmetic nursing is, at heart, an anatomy job. The medicines are part of it. The product knowledge is part of it. But the work that separates a good cosmetic nurse from a forgettable one is observation. How a face moves at rest versus in animation. Where the asymmetries are. Which muscles are doing work they don’t need to. Where structure has been lost and where it never existed in the first place. Most of a consultation, for Melia, is just watching.

She has spent years building this practice. Plumerian Aesthetics started with a single chair and a clear philosophy. Restraint is the craft. Plumerian is not a clinic that wants to do everything to your face. It is a clinic that wants to do the right things, slowly, and only when they actually suit you.

The Plumerian philosophy.

Three things define how Plumerian Aesthetics practises.

First, every appointment begins with a complimentary consultation. Not a price list. Not a treatment menu. A conversation. The aim is to help every client make the right decision rather than feel rushed into one.

Second, the clinic does not treat every face the same way. Most consultations conclude with two or three carefully chosen areas, sometimes none. If a treatment does not suit you, you will be told. If nothing is needed, you will be told that too.

Third, the bar for natural is higher than the bar for noticeable. The cosmetic work Plumerian is most proud of is the work that registers as “you look great” without anyone being able to articulate why. That’s the standard. Subtle, considered, restrained.

What Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh treats.

Every treatment at the clinic is delivered by Melia or a member of her team of Registered Nurses, after a complimentary consultation. The full range is medically led, AHPRA-compliant, and chosen for the specific concerns of each client.

Outside the clinic.

When she’s not at the clinic, Melia continues to study cosmetic nursing. The field changes quickly, and the practitioners she admires are the ones still learning a decade in. She attends hands-on courses with Australian and international trainers each year and follows the cosmetic medical research closely.

The rest of the time, she is with her family, in the garden, or somewhere quiet. Not particularly photogenic. Definitely not on every cosmetic trend cycle. That’s deliberate. Practising restraint in her own life makes it easier to practise restraint with everyone else’s face.

Questions clients ask about working with Melia.

Plumerian Aesthetics is led by Melia. She delivers treatments personally and is supported by a small team of AHPRA-registered Registered Nurses who work with her part-time. Every nurse delivering treatments at the clinic holds active AHPRA registration.

Yes. Melia is a Registered Nurse registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. AHPRA registration is publicly searchable.

Melia trained as a Registered Nurse in Canada, started her clinical career in neonatal intensive care, and moved into cosmetic nursing after relocating to Australia. She has completed extensive cosmetic anatomy and injection technique training with Australian and international practitioners, and continues active professional development each year.

Melia watches how your face moves, at rest and in animation. She asks what’s actually bothering you. She looks at facial proportion, asymmetry, and skin quality. The plan she writes is based on what she sees, not what is selling. If something does not suit you, she will say so.

Because the model Melia wants to run, a small dedicated team, long consultations, no rushed treatments, is best served by a single dedicated space. Bentleigh is well-positioned for Melbourne’s south-east and Bayside catchment, and the clinic was designed to be worth the trip from anywhere within that area.

Melia is on Instagram and Facebook (links in the footer). Her posts are selective, mostly considered work and the philosophy behind it, never aggressive promotions or before-and-afters of recognisable clients.
