CONCERN

Lip shape and volume. Considered options.

Lip shape and volume are among the most nuanced parts of a face to work on. The upper lip flattens with age. The lower lip can lose height. The vermillion border softens. And every mouth is asymmetric to some extent. The goal at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh is not fuller lips. It is a lip shape that suits your face and reads as your own.

Every treatment plan is delivered by an AHPRA-registered nurse after a complimentary sixty-minute consultation. Treatments are conservative, delivered in small stages, and never rushed. We do not build a look that reads as ‘lips’ first.

What we help with

Reasons clients come to us include volume loss in the upper or lower lip, softening or blurred vermillion borders, mild asymmetry, marionette-adjacent creasing at the mouth corners, and gentle rebalancing of upper to lower lip proportion. Some clients want lips restored to what they were a decade ago. Others want a subtle refinement they have been thinking about for years.

Things you can try at home

Lip care starts with sun protection. The lips lack melanin and are vulnerable to sun damage, so a daily SPF lip balm helps preserve overall quality. Consistent hydration supports the lip area. Gentle exfoliation once weekly can improve texture. Lip masks and rich balms overnight support the skin here. Attention to hydration status has an immediate visible effect on the lips.

When it makes sense to consult

It is worth booking a consultation when you are considering structural changes to lip shape or proportion, when volume changes are affecting how you feel about the balance of your face, or when you want to understand what considered options might suit your anatomy. A consultation with a Registered Nurse is a conversation about what specifically you are hoping to change and whether any options are appropriate for your situation.

How we can help

Non-surgical options at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh include very small amounts of facial volumising to restore shape or definition, treatments spaced across two or three sessions rather than a single ‘big’ appointment, and skin bio-remodelling to support the skin quality around the mouth. The plan you leave with is written, honest about costs, and free of pressure to book on the day.

Our preferred approach

Natural lip aesthetic reference at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh: a flatter lip profile with vertical height, not projected forward.

We have a strong aesthetic preference at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh, and it shapes how we treat lips. The look we favour is a flatter lip profile with vertical height, rather than a lip that projects forward. In practice that means definition, hydration, and a lifted upper lip edge without the duck, sausage, or over projected outline that becomes visible in profile.

This preference is why the Russian lip technique features often in our lip plans. It is a placement style that supports vertical height along the natural pink of the lip rather than volume pushed outward. It suits clients who want their lips to look like the best version of their own mouth, not a different mouth.

Not every face suits every technique. What we recommend at your consultation depends on your natural lip shape, symmetry, and how your mouth moves when you talk and smile. Some lips need very little. Some need placement across two or three appointments spaced four to six weeks apart. Some clients are better served by not treating the lip at all and addressing the surrounding area instead.

What to expect

Most first plans start with a very small amount of product, placed conservatively across a series of appointments spaced two to four weeks apart. Immediate swelling settles within a few days. Bruising is possible but usually minor. There is no downtime beyond that. You will have a written plan before you decide to book. A complimentary review at two weeks is included in every plan.

Frequently asked questions

Will my lips look done?

Not with the approach at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh. The plan starts with what suits your face rather than a template. Most first-time clients leave the first appointment looking rested, not obviously treated. If you want more definition, we build in small stages across follow-up appointments.

How much is done on the first visit?

Very little. Most first-time lip plans use a small amount of product placed conservatively, then reviewed at two weeks. The idea is to see how your lips respond before adding more. This is deliberately different from a single large appointment.

Is there downtime?

Minor. Immediate swelling settles within a few days. Bruising is possible but usually small and covers easily. Most clients return to normal activities the same day, though we recommend avoiding heavy exercise and alcohol for twenty-four hours.

Do you do the Russian lip technique?

Yes. It is one of the techniques we use often at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh, because it aligns with our aesthetic preference for lips with vertical height and a natural profile rather than forward projection. Whether it suits your face is decided at your complimentary consultation, alongside the option of a more conventional placement or, in some cases, no lip treatment at all.

Do you use hyaluron pens?

No. Hyaluron pens are not TGA-approved for cosmetic use in Australia. Every lip plan at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh is a considered, individualised approach delivered by an AHPRA-registered nurse using needle-based technique.

How long do lip treatments last?

This varies with the individual, the amount used, and lifestyle factors. Most clients maintain results with a review appointment every six to twelve months. This is discussed as part of your written plan at the consultation.

Considered care, without the rush.
