FIRST VISIT

Starting cosmetic treatments for the first time.

Starting cosmetic treatments for the first time is often less about wanting a specific treatment and more about wanting a proper conversation with someone who is not trying to sell. At Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh, the first visit is always a complimentary sixty-minute consultation with Melia RN or one of the Plumerian team of AHPRA-registered nurses. There is no expectation to book anything on the day.

Most first-time clients arrive with a general sense that something has changed. The mirror does not read the way it used to. That is the right starting point. The consultation is designed to listen first, then walk through what suits your face and, just as importantly, what does not.

What the first visit looks like.

About forty-five minutes. We talk before we treat. Your nurse assesses your face at rest and in animation, listens to what is bothering you, walks through what is and is not worth doing, and explains options in plain language. You leave with a written treatment plan, honest costing, and time to think. Most first-time clients take at least a few days between the consultation and any first treatment. There is no discount, no urgency, and no pressure to book on the day.

What we tend to recommend first.

Most first plans at Plumerian Aesthetics Bentleigh start with something gentle. Skin bio-remodelling to support hydration and skin quality. A very small softening of one or two expression lines. A considered volumising treatment for one area that is bothering you. We do not recommend combining four treatments on the first visit. We recommend starting with one thoughtful step and building slowly across the next six to twelve months.

What we will not do.

We do not upsell. We do not run limited-time offers on prescription treatments. We do not use before-and-after imagery of injectables. We do not pressure anyone to add something you did not ask about. If a treatment is not right for you or your face, we will say so, refer you out where it makes sense, or tell you that the honest answer is to do nothing yet.

Preparing for a first appointment.

Before any first appointment, the most valuable thing you can do is build a consistent skincare foundation. Daily broad-spectrum SPF, a gentle cleanser, a considered moisturiser, and one or two targeted actives create the foundation any considered treatment plan builds on. Read a little about what considered care looks like and what it does not. If a clinic pressures you into same-day treatment, offers steep discounts on injectables, or shows before-and-after images, that is not considered care. Give yourself permission to book a consultation without any commitment to treatment.

When it makes sense to book a consultation.

It is worth booking a consultation when you feel ready to have a conversation about what is bothering you and what options exist, when you want to understand the landscape of considered options before making any decision, or when you want a Registered Nurse to help you think about a plan for the medium term rather than reacting to a single concern. First consultations at Plumerian are complimentary and are just that: a conversation. You leave with a plan you understand, not a procedure you feel pressured into.

Frequently asked questions from first-time clients.

I have never done anything before. How do I know where to start?

You do not need to know. That is the whole point of the complimentary consultation. Most first-time clients arrive with ‘something has changed but I do not know what’ and we work through it together. There is no expectation you know what treatment you want before you arrive.

How much will my first treatment cost?

This varies significantly depending on what suits your face and what you decide to do. The consultation itself is complimentary and includes a written plan with honest costing before you decide anything. You will not be surprised by a bill on the day.

How long will results from a first treatment last?

This depends entirely on which treatment you choose. Some skin treatments require a series before you see the full result. Some volumising and facial muscle treatments show earlier. Longevity ranges from three months to over a year depending on treatment type. This is walked through in your written plan.

Do I have to book on the day?

No. The clinic runs consultation-first for exactly this reason. Most first-time clients take several days to a week to think it through, ask their partner, or read the plan again. The consultation is complimentary regardless of whether you book anything after it.

Can I bring a friend to the consultation?

Yes. Many first-time clients bring a partner, sister, or friend for the consultation. The room is quiet and private, and there is space for one other person to sit in if that helps you make the decision more comfortably.

Considered care, without the rush.
